    I saw him down on the Embarcadero about 12 months back.

    He offered me some Emperor Norton money.

    In return, I offered him some Dot Com stock certificates.

    He laughed at my offer.

    Smart man, that emperor.

      Hey, you don't get to be emperor by taking every wooden nickel that comes along...

      Although you do get to amass a very nice wooden nickel collection that way. I'm not sure which I'd prefer, personally.
