Any idea where one would be able to find actual signed Emperor Norton currency? eBay searches only yield various coins and stuff made long after Emperor Norton's death, so I'm wondering if anyone has any leads... How much would it be worth nowadays? Anyone see an actual bill at an antique shop? Are reproductions available?

Thu, January 29, 2004 - 10:36 PMi'm sure antique shops in sf would be a good bet, but, after all these years any original surviving currency is probably in the hands of museums and privite collectors -

Mon, February 2, 2004 - 9:13 AMWells Fargo has a few of the bills somewhere in SF.
I don't know if they're currently on display, but I'd be surprised if
the didn't make some reproductions at some point. -

Re: WANTED: EMPEROR NORTON CURRENCY!
Thu, February 5, 2004 - 10:35 AMYeah, The Wells Fargo Museum (On Montgomery) has a couple of bills.
There are a few at San Jose Coin shoppes(or were years back) that I've seen going for as much as two grand.

Re: WANTED: EMPEROR NORTON CURRENCY!
Tue, June 21, 2005 - 4:58 PMA guy on EBay sells re-pros all the time as part of a set of 6 historical bills. The set goes for $5.
Actual bills are nearly impossible to find. There's only one at the Wells museum (on Montgomery).
I doubt you'll find a real one for sale.
