Hi,
I'd like to participate in the annual Emperor Norton celebration/procession. I think it's on the day of his death, January 8, and I think in involves a procession either to or from his grave. I know the event is associated with the Clampers and the Cacophony Society. Could anyone set me straight? I don't want to miss it this year. Norton I is my patron saint. Please email me with the details.

Re: Celebrating Norton I.
Thu, December 4, 2003 - 9:32 AMI've often heard of this and saw photos once. I asked a Clamper friend(who will neither confirm nor deny that he is such) once about attending and all he said was the following.
"Show up in Colma, usually pretty early. Wear a hat. It's always cold out there."

Snagged this from the Cacophony Society yahoogroup:
Where: Malloy's in Daly City
When: Saturday, Jan 10th, 2004 - 6-9 AM (yes, that's
in the morning)
Dress: Anything - but 19th century Norton attire is
preferred
Why: Because!
Can't find a Yahoo yellowpages listing for Malloy's. :/
Still planning to go ... somewhere, though. -

Molloy's Tavern is on Old Mission St. If you're heading south down El Camino Real, stay on the left, go past the graveyards and make this odd left onto a rather tattered little street. If you pass Costco, you've gone too far. Molloy's is on the right hand side.
Afterwards, do yourself a favor and pop in for a drink. Best selection of Irish Whiskey anywhere.

Re: Celebrating Norton I.
Fri, January 9, 2004 - 11:01 AMThanks, that helps! Can you tell me if I should take 101 or 280 from SF, and which exit I should take?
Thanks,

Re: Celebrating Norton I.
Fri, January 9, 2004 - 12:22 PMHmmm, thinking...
OK, take 280, and take the Hickey Blvd. exit. At the end of Hickey (where it dead ends into a trailer park) make a left. Make the first right you can make, which is at an acute angle. That's Old Mission Road. You can't miss Molloy's. It's the only thing that isn't dead, residential, a high school or any combination thereof.
